Into the Mystic! For all Art of Being Graduates

If the journey into being is like learning how to swim in deep waters, it is also like learning how to let go and drown! To come out of our stuff and into our being is always a death and rebirth. It is the depth of our opening and our trust to let-go that brings us into the mystical. We come out of the box and experience life here and now - not just normal life, but colours, shades, subtleties and mysteries that emerge and enter our being when we open ourselves to them. As George Gurdjieff said, "Life is real only then, when I am". Being here now, where the present moment and timeless eternity meet, we enter the mystic. It cannot be programmed, but it can be invited. This weekend is just such an invitation.

This new annual weekend gathering is open to graduates and teachers of all Art of Being Trainings, whether with Alan or with Saleem. It is a precious opportunity to refresh your inner connection and to open new doors into your being. It is too of course a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with old friends and discover new ones who have shared the depths and heights that we touch in the long trainings, and to meet each other once again in celebrating together the art of being.

NB: If you are a licensed Art of Being teacher, please remember that your participation in this weekend is the way in which you maintain your licence.

AND!... when you have time to read a little more...

A personal message from Alan to all Art of Being graduates
Being a graduate of an Art of Being Training - whichever one you did and whether with me or Saleem - you made the choice to awaken and develop your ability to live fully the gifts of your being. During the year or two of your training, every few months you came again into the Art of Being circle. You opened new doors, took your inner explorations deeper, brought the issues of your daily life into the circle, and lived the very real challenge of bringing the art of being into your everyday life. Sometimes you made great transforming leaps of self-realization. Sometimes you seemed to be taking two steps forward and one back. Sometimes you found yourself stuck in the same old stuff that you thought you had grown out of. Hopefully you came to understand that all this happens on the journey into being and you came to love the journey itself in all its ups and downs and to experience the beautifully simple fact that the goal is the journey. All that matters is to keep being on it.

My dearest wish for you is that today, however long ago you graduated, you still live your outer life with the presence, heart, awareness and friendliness towards your feelings, nature and inner being that were the essential elements of your training. I know for myself how much it matters to keep replenishing this inner-outer connection. And too how beautiful it is to open new, unexpected gifts that keep your life moving, and that continue to surprise.

This is why the Graduates Circle is happening at Schloss Glarisegg this April 3-5. The Graduates Circle is an annual event. To be in a workshop that is only for graduates is to enjoy concentrated immersion in an Art of Being experience where, although it is only a weekend, you know that you can quickly go deep - and fly high too. So much is already understood. Even if you have become somewhat lost or have forgotten or have to some degree fallen asleep, just to be in the circle is to open immediately the door of self-remembering and to awaken all that lives within. It is always only waiting for our return, our home-coming. The Graduates' weekend invites the home-coming. And because we have all traveled on in our lives and in our being, there are fascinating discoveries to be appreciated, learned from and enjoyed with each other. Who are you now? Who am I now? If we have not sat together, shared, played, explored, danced, meditated with each other in so long, what new revelations do we bring each other? I know vividly what a surprise I continue to be to myself. I'm so glad for the fact. I trust the same is true of every one of us. So I personally hold the wish that you will find your way to come and be part of the Graduates circle in April.

And about the title, Into the Mystic. If you are reading this in German, you may have read my Eros und Mystik article in Connection magazine. I am working on an adaptation of this that is not especially focused on Tantra. In the meantime, I hope these words will give you insight and inspiration to honour your own mystic journey, and to join our April circle.

With love and aloha,
alan
