The Body, Heart & Soul workshops
The Body, Heart & Soul course provides the experiential education that is the foundation of the training. Its four 7-day workshops bring the deepest understanding of sexuality, intimacy and Tantric loving through the personal transformation and evolution of your own being.

The Training Seminars
In these seminars you can explore the many methods, processes and meditations that have been developed by The Art of Being over the years as well as other approaches to sexuality and Tantra, and learn to work with whichever ones appeal to you as teaching tools. In the process you discover more and more about what you personally mean, what you are looking for, and what your own special gifts are: this is to say, you develop your own art of being. This may be about finding your way of working with others, or simply of living your own life in a way that fulfils you.
There is a lot to work with, so as well as practising in the seminars with your fellow-students, you are encouraged to meet in pairs or in small groups during the months between the group meetings. In the training seminars, the trainees who are interested in eventually becoming teachers - whether with The Art of Being or on their own - are also given guidance and feedback which is valuable in developing their ability, confidence and enjoyment in teaching.

Some of the themes that receive more in-depth attention during the Training seminars are:
sensory awareness and sensitivity training
touching and being touched - body, heart and soul
verbal and non-verbal rapport and communication skills
the use of ritual and ceremony
natural dance, movement and art
re-parenting and Inner Child work
breathing processes
massage and energy-work
meditation and spiritual work
trance and dreamwork

Some of these may already be familiar to you. As in any Art of Being training however, you are not only learning the content but using the content to deepen your self-awareness, open-heartedness and happiness.

The Art of Being Circle workshop
This Training is transformational, not just informational. It teaches you also to trust and to work with the natural flow of your energy, and the aliveness and intelligence of your being. This also means learning to know and recognise, in those moments when you lose trust or become afraid, the ways in which you may at times sabotage and undermine yourself and maybe others too. In this part of the training you learn to trust more and fear less so that you can play and work happily with the richness of your own being and with whoever you meet. This workshop brings valuable gifts to every aspect of your daily life.

The Transformational Vacation
One of your assignments during your second year is to organise together a transformational vacation during July or August, where you can enjoy, in a holiday setting, the circle of friendship that develops during the Training and all that you have learnedwith each other.

Assisting and Helping in Workshops
You are invited and encouraged to come either as an assistant or as a helper to any Art of Being workshop in which you have already participated. This is available by prior agreement with Alan or Jan. If you come as an assistant it means that you are there as part of the teaching staff. You may be asked, for example, to lead small groups, to counsel or be there for individual participants, to lead a meditation. If you are there as a helper it means you are willing to help both the staff of the workshop and of the centre where the workshop is being held, with whatever helps the workshop to run smoothly. When your help is not needed you can simply enjoy being present and participate in the workshop. This privilege can be requested both during and after the Training.

Continuing after the Training
At the end of the training, you will receive a certificate of completion. Graduates of the training who wish to become teachers of Art of Being workshops and courses or want to deepen their experience in working with people may continue to assist in workshops by personal agreement with the workshop leader. The opportunity to continue assisting after the training is over gives you practice and support in paving your own professional way and helps you learn the background routines that are necessary to work happily and successfully.
